Well, I went to the Orlando, Florida concert of the SPACE Tour with my friend Lindsay. (even though it was late on a Wednesday night & I live in Tampa. SO worth it.) Anyway, we got there about an hour before the doors opened, but we had to go eat first, so when we got there the doors had just opened. Well, Lindsay & I saw the people going in & we didn’t feel like walking around the chains, so we just climbed over them & followed the line inside. ANYWAYYY, we found out later we skipped about 300 people in line and we didn’t notice, so we ended up getting really close. During one of the Jim & the Povolos songs, it seemed like Brian kept looking at me, but I didn’t think he was cause there were a bunch of people there & WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF BRIAN HOLDEN STARING AT ME? Well my question was answered when he looked at me straight in the eyes & pointed at his head & mouthed the words “DOMO. I fucking love your hat.” & I VERY excitedly mouthed back “THANK YOU.” & he winked, smirked, & BLEW ME A KISS, & mouthed back, “You’re welcome, darling.” *swoon* Since I had been to the venue a lot before hand, I knew where the bus lot was, so afterwards Lindsay & I went there & we were only able to talk to Brian, but he called ME over to HIM & said, “Hey, you’re the Domo girl!” I mumbled some incoherent, embarrassing response & he asked me where I got the hat, so I told him I got it at Disney. He said, “Damn. Well I am GOING to get a Domo hat. You just watch me. We’re gonna be hat buddies.” And hugged me. My friend haf to pull me away then cause I was THIS close to passing out, but ohmygosh. Seriously the best day of my life. - Catie



In August 2011, I attended Market Days. I was performing as part of the Darren Criss Flash Mob. There was a huge rainstorm, but after it passed, we got to do our dance. Darren came out and watched it. I was sure that it would be the closest thing to meeting him i’d ever get. I then went to the front section, thanks to my VIP access, and got ready to finally see Darren live. The show itself was amazing. after the encore, my friends and i decided to go to the gate and try and get some autographs or a picture through the fence. I was convinced that we weren’t getting backstage. Suddenly the security guard tapped our shoulders saying we could go back. I immediately burst into tears. Many of the other DCST members were telling us to calm down, but i couldn’t. When it was my time to meet him, he saw me crying and he comes up to me with concern. Our conversation went like this: Me: H-hi Dar: Oh hi don’t cry, I’m just me! *hugs* Me: I know. Dar: What’s your name? *wraps arm around shoulder* Me: *looks at shirt* uhm, Amie-Leigh… Dar: oh cool! Me: I just wanna say thank you. “Not Alone” and “to have a home” kinda saved my life Dar: Really? Oh my god! I’m glad! *hugs**take another picture* Me: oh well bye, i guess…. Dar: Ok, Just keep smiling, Amie, ok? Me: ok…..bye *waves and screams internally*. A lot of people don’t know why i cried so much meeting him. He wasn’t the first celebrity i’ve met, and he sure wasn’t the last, but he was the most meaningful. In 2009, i had hit rock bottom emotionally and physically. I had just had a bad break up, I had gained a lot of weight, and my family was falling apart. To add to all of this, i was transferring colleges. I didn’t know anyone. While trolling the internet, I came across A Very Potter Musical. For the first time in months, I laughed genuinely. When “Not Alone” came on, i started crying. The song was exactly what i needed to hear. I saw that Darren had written the song. Over the next year, when ever i was having a bad day, I watched AVPM. My life didn’t get much easier and i was starting to crash. I was drinking a lot, I was doing drugs, i hated myself. Then MAMD and AVPS came out. I watched them and found out about this growing fandom of Starkid. I started talking to people in chats about our similar interests and i found myself really forming friendships through Starkid. “To Have A Home” is exactly how i felt when i thought about my Starkid friends. In fall of 2010, I found Starkid fans in my school, including one of my suitemates. I finally started feeling like i had a place in the world, like i belonged. When i got to be at Market Days i was so happy with just being there to support Darren. But then when i had been given the opportunity to meet him, it was so overwhelming. I was given a chance to meet and thank the man who’s words have saved me from myself, the man who was part of the group that made me feel like i was worth something more. All of the feelings i was having came to surface and I cried. I know if ever given the chance to meet him again, I will be my natural, sassy self; but i wouldnt change this first meeting for anything in the world. On Saturday January 7th, i attended Theo Katzman/Charlene Kaye/Shoot The Freak concert in New York City. Little did I know, i’d be socializing with Team Starkid….. My phone messed up the directions so i was running really late and had to trek 40 blocks with all my belongings. I was tired, I was thirsty, I was not happy. All i could think about was how late i’d be. I get to the Mercury lounge finally and see my friend. I went over to her and she pulled me in line with her. Once i had my barrings, i took in my surroundings. In front of me was Joey, Brant, and my friend. to my right was Dylan. And behind me was JWalk, Brian, and Mere. i got to the door to show my ID for my 21+ wristband. the doorman stopped Dylan and i from entering the club. finally he goes “ok, this couple can go in.” In my head i muttered ‘couple? i wish’. Once inside, i had to buy a soda. i sipped my drink in the over crowded area when Miss Meredith passes by. I tentatively tap her on the shoulder. “Uhm, Hi. We talked on fb about the cuddle puddle crew.” I said. Her eyes lit up. “OMG yeah!” “I’m Amie” “Nice to actually meet you. This is my brother David.” “Twitter keeps telling me to follow you!” “Do it! Twitter is wise!” He laughs. “Well if you insist!” I joke. “Are we gonna cuddle today?” Mere seems excited “Oh course! Can i get a quick picture?” “Absolutely” We pose with her caressing my backpacks straps “Man… I knew Brian would photo bomb” i say joyfully. Meredith laughs and says, “I gotta go with theo but i’ll see you in there. Bye” I turn back to my soda and then Joey brushes by me. “We gotta keep going everyone.” He says ushering the crowd forward. “Joey can i get a picture, myspace style?” “While we walk, yea.” I walk into the club and make my way to the front. To meet Ashley and Shannon for the first time. We embrace. i drop my bag off on a nearby bench. I caught them up on my day so far and my sightings. We decide to creep in the bar area, but it’s too crowded. As we make our way back in, we settled in the back row. Suddenly, i see to my right, Brant Cox. Soon the sultry sounds of Theo Kahztman fill the air. Ashley and i dance like idiots in order to break the tension caused by our internet fa-moose neighbors. When the set came to an end, I gathered all my COURAGE (haha Darren), and asked Brant for a picture. The flash of my camera acted as a beacon. Suddenly everyone was asking for Brant’s picture. The other Starkids took notice to the flashes of Cameras. While the fangirls got their Brant pics, we decided we needed a picture of us! Then Charlene went on. She rocked it! no surprise there. When her set finished. Meredith stopped by us. I introduced her to Shannon and Ashley, more CPC members for her to know. She then continued to joke around with us. She asked us what the CPC was up to. We told her about the Denise video chat, our fan challenge with red vines, and the Starkid Games on twitter. She told us how she felt about Red Vines and then told us that our group sounded awesome and we should all cuddle later. I then moved out of the way for people to get pictures wit her and I found myself just inches from Corey Lubowich. I asked for a picture but his blinked the first time. “Dammit Corey,” I said, “stop ruining the picture!” He laughs a melodic laugh and says, “Let’s try again.” And then there was Joesph Fucking Walker. Standing there with his face. And his body. Being all… Joe Walker. i did get my picture and then we asked him to record a video saying “hi” to our friend Rayna (JoeWalkerFan on twitter) because she was the Ninja Hug challenger. Of course he obliged and he and Brian had a lot of fun with it. Before we knew it Shoot The Freak had rocked the joint and it was time to clear out. Being seasoned stalkers…. i mean concert goers, we knew there was a chance to meet more Starkids. First there was Dylan, almost unnoticed. I whispered him over and got a picture. When he went to wrap his arm around me, his hand aimed a little low. his palm rested against my right buttock. Realizing his mistake, but not regretting it, he cupped the area and slowly slid is hand up to my lower back. His grope did not go unnoticed. Before i walked away i told him of my Starkid Bucket List, I wanted a hug.
“I was going to get one during SPACE but we got yelled at.” I said, remember our conversation after that fateful performance. “Really? Why? What show was this?” Dylan seemed upset. “Boston “oh yes. well here you go,” And he gave me a warm embrace. It was magical. Then i saw, in the distance a lonely joe Walker, i approached. “Joe….Joe Walker…. JWALK!” He turns, “Did you just call me JWalk?” His expression unreadable. “yes, yes i did” “oh, cool. Whats up?” “Yea we talked inside, you did that vid for my friend.” “Oh yea!” “So I have this bucket list and on it is to arm wrestle you.” “What? We dont have a table… And i’d win!” “How do you know for sure.” “come on.” “fine. I conceit.” We shake hands. Suddenly an ambulance goes by with hebrew on it. “I want to be on that ambulance” i exclaim “Now those are some real doctors” He says in a yiddish accent. “Yea Jew power” “You’re Jewish too?” “Hell Yea!” “L’Chiam” we high five. “Happy late Chanukah!” I say “Yea too bad we missed it!” He says before getting pulled away. then on my way back to our group, i see Clark. “Hey Clark can i get a picture?” “Oh yea.” He leans down so he fit in the frame. “Oh you’re short.” “or youre tall?” We take the photo. “Actually i’m part of the cuddle Puddle Crew and we did that JatP video with the cats.” “Oh Yea that was so cool. I loved it. Is anyone else from it here.” “yea! Shannon, i’ll take you to her.” “Sure.” but before i could get to them, some girls swarmed Clark and so instead, i brought the group to him. I was trying to move out of the way of pedestrians, so i walked over to a group…there was Mia! Darren Fucking Criss’ alleged lady friend. i went up to her and got a picture. she wanted to see how it looked so i showed her. A woman joined us and Mia goes, “this is my mom! Mom this is my new friend Amie.”“oh, hi Mia’s mom.” but she was ushered away by fans. Just before we left, I had one more picture i need. Brian B-Hol Holden. He is a fiesty one, not easy to capture in the wild and yet here one was, right in front of me! I took my chance.“Hey Brian! Wanna do a myspace photo?” “Aw old school yea.”They had to leave after that. I said to our group, we can either go eat or wait for Charlene. We decided that since it was getting late, we should go for dinner. The plan was to go to Katz’s Deli, but it was packed. We assumed that was where the Starkids when to eat. We just went to the next diner on the street. As we were about to walk in, we saw all of TSK sitting there.We walked in trying to play it cool. Then a group of fangirls interrupted their dinner for photos. Joe W was uber bitch glaring at them. So as to not anger them any further, we ignored them and avoided talking about the show. Eventually they all left. Meredith was one of the last to go, she made eye contact with us, so i said “Bye Meredith.” “Bye guys” “See you at leakyCon?” “I really hope so!” And with that she left. On January 28th, I made one more trip to NYC to attend JMOMS. I have been wanting to go for so long. I met up with some of my friends from Cuddle Puddle Crew and we took our seats. The show was hilarious and amazing. When it was over, we waited outside for Joe to come out. While we waited, I met a few of the other people in the show. Once Joe came out, i handed him a drawing i made of him. It was his face and then the top of his head was missing and i drew a brain. The brain was split up into parts and each part was something he liked. When he looked at it he said i mad the food section was too big and the Panda one too small. I then got to pose for a picture with him. I have been EXTREMELY fortunate over the past few months. I can never thank TSK enough for everything they’ve done for me. And I hope i have plenty more opportunities to do so! - Amie-Leigh



I had gone to the Theo Katzman/Charlene Kaye/Shoot the Freak concert in NYC. We got to the Mercury Lounge and get out of the car. My cousin (Juli) and I walked up to the door. “You need an ID…” I was like, “Uh…no?”. Then he, the guy was the security gaurd, was like “Oh… wait… this is all ages… whoops,” we walked inside handed the ticket guy our tickets and then he gave us back the stubs. Not going to lie, I was really nervous because it was my first concert w/o an adult with me… And the envoirement was scary, at first. So then I texted one of the people I met through TSK to tell her we were there. She came out to the bar area and yeah it was a cute little meet up. We were talking and flipping out that we were going to have a chance meet them… Then Amie, another person I met through TSK,“We are outside” so when she got inside she told me SHE WAS OUTSIDE WITH STARKID. and yeah, I died. We walked out of the concert room area thing and went to the bar area. (Kind of looking for them) and then we see they came in through the back. So we casually walked basically right next to them and i kept glancing over, I mostly saw Brant because he is a freakin’ giant… OH AND, Brian kept on looking at me and I am nervous he has noticed that I tweet him… a lot… Then Theo came on and I was all “la la la I dont know the worddss”. Meredith had to get through to talk to a friend or something I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS HER AND I FELT LIKE AN JERK BECAUSE I DIDN’T HEAR HER SAY ANYTHING AND THEN SHE TAPPED MY BACK AND I FLIPPED OUT…. well in my mind. When Theo was done, Brian, I assume, went to get a drink. We (Amie, Ashley and I) talked to Brant and got a picture with him. AHH HE PUT MY HIS HAND ON MY WAIST. I AM SURE HE DID THAT WITH EVERYONE BUT SHH… He had a REALLY tight grip. I was freaking out inside. SO THEN I see Brian TWO FREAKING STEPS AWAY FROM ME. And ASHLEY is like “oh kay, I am going to be a Jerk and stand next to Brian so shannon cannot.”  (If you can’t tell, Brian is one of my top StarKids. Even though it is really hard to choose) So then Charlene comes on and I am dancing super awkwardly but its alright because Brian was too…. BUT ANYWAYS. He and Meredith were together and Mere was just rocking out and it was amazing. Brian was kind of just standing there awkwardly. So then before Charlene is done Ashley and I switch spots, I don’t know if Brian noticed or not… OH and at some point of all of this Mere kissed Brian on the nose and I died. So yeah I was making an ass of myself with my dancing AND i was cool, calm and collected, suprizingly. 
SO Between Charlene and Shoot the Freak…. Alright we got the JWalk vid for Rayna, another person I met through TSK, and we also got a picture with Amie and Corey… Then Amie introduced me to Mere and was like “She is also a member of the Cuddle Puddle Crew”. We talked and Mere was like “Are we cuddling tonight?” and we were like “YEAH!”. Also we introduced Ashley to her and got her to say hi to Hailey, another person we had met through TSK. Then Shoot the Freak came out, during the video for Rayna, and they had to go up front. We left the concert area and where just chilling in the bar area. We were talking and I was leaning on the Mens Room door, not realizing so, and someone came out and I almost fell on them WHOOPS. I took a quick look and thought it was Brian but it wasn’t. After a bit, we walked back to where the starkids were before STF came on. I was leaning my head against the wall and Juli (my cousin) was like “You and Brian have the same nose”… Ashley whipped out her picture that she took with Brian before hand and was like “YOU DO.” I fangirled. So then, When STF was over we headed for the door because it was super crowded. We stood at the door for an awkward 4 minutes then were like “Lets wait outside…” so we did. Who came out first…….. uh….. I think it was Dylan and Clark and Dylan’s friend. We talked to Dylan and, basically, everyone got a picture with him… well except me but I got to talk to him. So then everyone started to come out and I was waiting with Juli by Amie’s stuff because EVERYONE LEFT US. Juli was like, “Look that guy!” “WHAT GUY?” I was screaming at her..“The guy with the long hair…” “WHO? … AH ITS JOEY. I AM LEAVING YOU HERE. BE RIGHT BACK.” So I left her there and she was like WAIT. DONT LEAVE ME but I did anyways. And I got my picture with Joey xD He is so sweet he was like “If i have never gotten a picture with you, I will take one… But we have to go fast, I have a busy night” or something like that. 
SO THEN- FINALLY AFTER WHAT FELT LIKE AGES- Meredith came out and Brian followed. He walked out to the side walk and I was like “WAIT.” except I didnt say it, I thought it. Juli was like “GO. GO RIGHT NOW.” “I FEEL SO BAD. BUT WHATEVER” so I walked over and was like “Brian, can I get a picture really fast?” and he said, with his voice that is beautiful even though Juli thinks its spastic, “Yeah, sure!” So yeah I took a picture. So then we were (My mom, Juli, Next door neighbor, and I) were like “Lets go get something to eat!” We walked like a block and got to the pizza place and we decided to go there. I look through the glass door and who do I see? JOE WALKER, CLARK AND OTHER PEOPLE. So I am like, “Ohmygod. They are going to think I am a stalker…” But i go in anyways. So yeah by the time i get online, Joey is in the front paying. We get to the corner of the line (People there know what I mean) AND GUESS WHO WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR? Brian and Mere. THEY WERE ONE PERSON BEHIND ME. My Mom and Next door neighbor were looking at me like, BAHAH lets make fun of you, so they did. BUT before we sat down…. Joe Walker walks to the back to go to the bathroom…. then he comes back and is all awkward- while we are paying at the same counter he is at- and is like “Do you have a key to the bathroom?” and the lady hands him this gigantic thing with a key attached to it. I start to laugh and he was laughing also, we shared a moment of laughter… hahaha. Then… AMIE AND ASHLEY come into the pizza place. LIKE OHMAHGAHD. So yeah… I am sitting down with everyone (My mom and my nextdoor neighbor and juli) and Joanne (my nextdoor neighbor) is like “What type of music do they sing?” I was trying to explain it and she was like “How about I ask them to sing for me?” and i was like “I DARE YOU…” she just stared at me “I TAKE IT BACK DONT DO IT”… Then I said, “I am leaving,” got up and walked over to amie and ashley… So then they came and sat by me and my mom and her friend left. So basically I was staring at my pic with Brian… and then awkwardly glance at their table, BRIAN AND MEREDITH SHARED A SLICE OF PIZZA. ANYWAYS… a few times Brian would be staring at me… I hope he doesn’t remember my tweet spam. SO yeah, we were pretty chill. Then they left and Amie said “Meredith are you going to leaky?” and She said “Yeah, I think so…” and Amie was like “See you there!” so now she probably thinks we are stalkers… Whoopsies.
OH and Meredith went to go to the bathroom and Juli told me there was no toilet paper left so I was going to tell Mere but she came out and asked them. 
oh and another thing… while at the bar place Clark came out of the curtian wall thing and Ashley was like “Hey…” and he was like “Hi?” then before he walked away I shouted… “SHE IS YOUR STREET TEAM.” By that, I meant she runs the twitter account. - Shannon



Hey! I’m Taylor and my experience with StarKid was on November 15th, 2011 at SPACE tour Atlanta. We went to pick up my best friend, Jordan, and made our way to the venue. We waited in line for about an hour and ran into some of Jordan’s friends and hung with them until VIP was called. In line, we sang Granger Danger, Goin Back To Hogwarts, Different as Can Be, and Hermione Can’t Draw. Security came out to call for VIP and I grabbed my mom and Jordan and practically ran to the door. We got in, got our lanyards, posters, and programs and got in line. On my way to my spot in line, I ran in to a girl I knew from marching band. I was going to join her but she was first and I didnt want to cut the 8 people behind her. So I went to the back and made some more friends. We talked for about 20 minutes while people were coming in and the marching band girl and her group started a “welcome ritual” for all the people getting in line. We all screamed “WELCOME TO SPACE TOUR” and everyone held their hands out for high fives. It was really fun. So after about 15 minutes of that, Meredith started walking out the door. I started tearing up. and so did everyone around me. I whipped out my travel pack of tissues. Meredith was first at the table. She overheard Jordan saying “Taylor, I can’t do this. I’m gonna die. Taylor, I’m gonna die!”. Meredith said, “Oh i hope you don’t die. You seem like you have such a bright future in front of you, and you’re wearing a Michigan hoddie!”. Jordan almost passed out. Meredith is one of her favorites. I gave her a Kuzco doll  (in llama form from the Emperor’s New Groove) and said “I watched your stand-up and when I saw this I immediately thought of you.” She just started laughing and asked if she could keep it. I said, “Of course!!”. After that, I gave Brian a Zefron necklace and he said “Woah boss, it’s ZEFRON!!! This is great. Thank you!” and I said “Sure thing! My friend can’t really form words for you but you are her favorite”. He said, “Aww. Well she’s my favorite.” Then he looked at her, “Your hoodie is BOSS”. Jordan managed to say “Thank you” with the biggest grin on her face. Next was Joey. I had been trying to prepare myself for meeting him all day. I guess it kinda worked. I got up to him and handed him a package of double stuffed oreos that I decorated. His eyes got SO big! He looked up at me and said, “Dude, you got me OREOS!! Way to be different. I’m gonna eat all of these!” I laughed and said, “Joey, sharing is caring. I got you those to share haha.” and he said, “Haha FINE! I’ll share! But I get most of them!” and i said, “That is perfectly fine”. He realized he lost his sharpie and was asking around for one. So I got out my sharpie and handed it to him. He stared at it and screamed, “IT’S PURPLE! YAAAAY!” and everyone around started laughing. I knew it was about time to move on so I asked for a hug. He said “You gave me oreos and a PURPLE sharpie…YES!!” and we hugged. It wasn’t very long because I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. Reality was hitting. I knew I had to stop before I started bawling my eyes out. Next was Lauren. I got super duper starstruck and couldn’t say much. All I could really do was hand her a Pigfarts acceptance letter and say, “You might want to read that :)”. She looked up and said, “Kay!” and she saw my homemade dark mark and said, “That looks really good! I love it!” I managed to say, “Thank you”. The security guy was rushing us so she said “Ok. Well have fun tonight. I hope to see you singing along the entire time.” and I said “Oh you will”. Next was Jaime. I gave her a picture of Darren as Harry that said courage on it that I framed in Gryffindor colors. Jordan felt like she needed to explain but Jaime said, “Oh I definitely get it. This is hilarious! Thank you!” Joey looked over and said, “Is that a picture of Darren with courage on it?” Jaime and I said yes. He said, “That’s so great! That is definitely going on the bus!”. Next was Dylan. I said, “I figured you already have a scarf of sexual preference, so I got you a lei of sexual preference”. He said, “Oh thank you! I love this!”. Then came Joe. I handed his present to Jordan since she had calmed down a bit. She handed him one of my moms old phones and said, “Our numbers are on there, we will text you back.” He looked and said “Finally! Someone who understands!” I told him to flip the phone open. He did and saw a pic of Taylor Lautner and laughed. I also asked for a hug from him. His hugs are amazing. Then we got to Charlene and Jordan handed her a Warbler tie and said, “We figured you had the dress, so we brought you the tie.” She thanked us a billion times. So after the VIP thing, we took our spots in the front row and waited about 1 hour for Charlene. The whole concert itself was amazing. During Joe and Joey’s little skit before Jim and the Povolos, he looked straight at me when he said “I do like southern girls.” I almost died. It was fantabulous. I got tons of Joey eye contact, LoLo eye contact, and Joe eye contact. During Holiday Club, Lauren saw me singing and gave me a thumbs up. I didn’t get to stay after the show because I had school the next day and my mom was tired. It was THE best night of my life. I really hope they come back soon! - Taylor



I was lucky enough to score a VIP ticket for the Silver Spring stop on November 20th. I was going with six of my other friends who all had general admission tickets. We got to the Fillmore around 3:30 and weren’t too far back in line, which was great for them because they ended up being really close to the stage too! While we were in line we made friends with Starkids around us and I found some other solo VIPers to get in line with! Around 5ish we were ushered into the VIP line, and I WAS THE FIRST IN LINE to go into the theatre. I was freaking out and trying to calm myself as we stood outside talking and singing. Both Clark and Corey came out to say hi to us, so I got to talk to them both briefly which was awesome. The line was formed by this huge window that gave us a great view into the backstage area. I was keeping my eye on the window, and one time I could see some movement in there out of the corner or my eye. I turned around and it was JOEY RICHTER WALKING BY. And he’s one of my favorite Starkids of them all so I start shouting “There’s Joey there’s Joey THERE’S JOEY THERE’S JOEY!!!” and everyone freaked out. Later we also saw Julia and Dylan through the big window. Finally they let us in and gave us our lanyards, and as I was composing myself before I go in the room, I realize I’m being filmed by some guy who was covering the Silver Spring show! If you’re seen The Starkid Story interview, at the very beginning I’m the one in the grey and purple sweater shouting “THIS IS IT!” I finally pack up the courage to walk in and there they all were, all looking at me. I shouted “HI GUYS!!!” Julia gave me my poster and program, and I walked up to the table. Dylan was up first, and I said hello and how much I loved his voice, and he said thank you and passed my poster down. Next was Brian and Meredith, and I thanked them for doing the whole VIP experience, and Brian said “Absolutely! Thank you for coming!” and I said “Oh please, I live ten minutes down the road in College Park, there is NO WAY I was going to miss this!” Meredith said “aww thank you!” So next was Joey, and he had been listening to me, and immediately asked “Do you go to the University of Maryland?” and I said yes, and he said “Oh my gosh that’s awesome! My dad went there for his undergrad!” so I freaked out and told him I was a theatre major and he got really excited and said how great that was. Then I told him (and at this point, he, Brian, Meredith, Dylan, and Joe were all listening to me) that their timing of coming to Maryland couldn’t be any more perfect because I had just finished up with a show the day before! So Joey asked what show and I told him Play It Again, Sam, and he said “I’ve never heard of that one, I’ll have to look it up. Is it like Casablanca the Musical?” And I laughed and said “No but how awesome would that be!!!” and continued down the line. Next was Joe, and I had a question prepared for him because I knew he was a big fan of the musical The Book of Mormon, so I said “Joe I have a serious question for you.” And he threw down his Sharpie, looked right at me and said “BRING IT.” and I said “While you were in Orlando,” (because in BoM a lot of references to Orlando are made) “how many Book of Mormon references were made?” And he made this really serious face, thought for a second, then said “Four. I’m going to go with four.” And we talked about how badly we wanted to see the show. Next was Lauren and Jaime, and I was so starstruck by the two of them all I could manage to say was “Thank you so much, you’re both so beautiful and talented you’re amazing!” Then I ran to merchandise and bought a new pair of sunnies, put my stuff down right in front of the stage, then went back to take some pictures of them before they left and GA came in. Charlene came in late so I ran over to her and got my poster signed by her as well. Then the concert happened and that was just amazing. I won’t go into detail because there are videos and pictures everywhere. But during It’s Over Now Lauren pointed at me twice and once during Boy Toy, Joey smiled at me during The Way I Do because I started the wave in the audience, and during Get Back to Hogwarts when Dylan sang “we’ve got a hidden swimming pool” Brian looked at me and mouthed “Where?!” When they took their bows Lauren was crying, so I sent her a heart with my hands and mouthed “I love you!” And she smiled, put her hand to her chest then pointed at me and mouthed “Thank you so much!” After the show, I met back up with my friends and they wanted to meet them, so we ran out back to the tour buses. It was cold and raining and security kept yelling at us to go home, but a few dozen of us stayed while they loaded the tour bus. Finally after about an hour Dylan and opening act George Watsky (who was AMAZING by the way) came around the corner and we all freaked! So I had George sign my poster and I got two hugs from Dylan and a picture. By that time Brian and Meredith had come out so I went over to Brian, told him how great the show was, and how beautiful the Status Quo arrangement was. I gave him a hug and got a picture with him too. I turned to Meredith and she ran over and gave me a huge hug. I got a picture with her and we literally stood there and talked for about ten minutes. She is just the sweetest and I want to be her best friend. When Meredith went to another group of fans I went searching for more Starkids and BAM. Ran right into Joey Richter. So I grabbed my friends’ arm and we ran over to him. I told Joey he was my absolute favorite and if I could give him a hug and he said “Oh of course! Get in here!” So he pulled me in and squeezed the life out of me. And I got a picture and he talked to me and my friends for a really long time. He learned all our names and remembered them when we saw him later. One of my friends was completely hyperventilating over talking to Joey, so to try and calm him down, Joey stroked his face. Obviously, that just made him freak out more! After we left Joey, I saw Joe Walker’s silhouette in the distance so I hauled ass over to him, to find out he was holding a bottle of Corona and was quite drunk. He shook my hand and he said “I hope you were able to have a little bit of fun tonight” and I got a picture with him. Then he said some stuff about Darren and his fame and wealth to another group of girls that was hilarious, then Rick Richter made an appearance saying they needed to leave. So I didn’t get a picture with Lauren or Jamie, but it was still one of the greatest nights ever and I will never forget it. I hope they go on tour again soon, I miss them :).THEN NOT TWO MONTHS LATER… I TOOK A LITTLE TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY!!! On January 14th 2012, my alarm went off at 4:30am. I got up, dressed, and walked the two blocks from my hotel to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre to wait in the rush line to see Darren in H2$. I was about 20th in line in the 17-degree cold, so I felt really confident that I was going to get tickets. As the waiting continued, I noticed people were cutting in line with their friends who had been saving spots for them all night. By 9:30, a half hour before the box office opened, I was back to 35th in line. I was terrified I wasn’t going to get tickets, since it’s 2 per person max and there were rumored to be 30 tickets per show (since it was a Saturday there were two performances that day). The box office finally opened and I got up to the booth and asked if there were 2 tickets left for the night show. THERE WERE!!! My mom and I got our tickets as I practically collapsed to the floor and was crying with happiness and relief. I WAS GOING TO SEE DARREN’S BROADWAY DEBUT IN JUST A FEW HOURS. And better yet, our seats were in the SECOND ROW. We saw Phantom of the Opera that afternoon and then went back to the hotel for a nap and to get ready to see Darren. About an hour before curtain my phone buzzed. It was a tweet from Lauren Lopez saying SHE WAS GOING TO BE AT THE SHOW THAT NIGHT. I was freaking out. Being in the same room as Darren and Lauren at the same time was more than my fangirl heart could contain, even after SPACE Tour! The time finally came to walk back to the theatre. We got in line (and my mom was shocked at how many people complimented me on my pink Starkid sunnies), I bought my Darren poster, and took our seats. After what seemed like an eternity, the overture started playing and I was shaking uncontrollably. Finally the rope dropped down from the ceiling and up rose Darren Criss himself, in the flesh. The second I saw the top of his head I screamed and started sobbing. I mean. It was DARREN CRISS. AND HE WAS SO CLOSE. I mean this guy is my idol and such an inspiration to me that I could barely handle it. The shaking turned to practically convulsing because I couldn’t believe that Darren was 5 feet away. After about ten minutes I finally calmed down and started to really enjoy the show. I won’t go into details, but Darren absolutely BLEW ME AWAY. He was flawless. I have so say, taking all fan bias away, Darren was truly amazing. He added quirks to the character that made the show funnier than I could have expected. My abs were so sore from laughing so hard. I wish his run had been longer because he is the perfect Finch, and Nick Jonas, between Daniel and Darren’s performances, has some HUGE shoes to fill. My seats were right on the aisle so I decided that with a few minutes left to go in the show, I would bolt to the stage door. (I know it’s disrespectful, I felt really bad for doing it, but I want to meet and speak to my idol, sue me.) I ran out of the theatre and I saw a huge crowd already at the barricades. I thought ‘Shoot! How did they all get out here already?!?!’ Then I noticed a security officer ushering people with tickets in front of the huge crowd. I then realized that a secondary barricade had been set up for people who hadn’t seen the show that night on the side that’s typically reserved for those who had just seen the show. Long story short, I ended up in the second row of the mob, which meant I was going to meet Darren within the hour. We waited in the cold, got shoved by the crazy fans in the back, befriended Neil, Darren’s kickass bodyguard, and met Beau Bridges. We also saw Lauren Lopez walk into the stage door, so we all screamed and she smiled and waved at us!!! After about an hour or so of waiting, Darren came out. It was really dramatic and dream-like. The stage door swung open slow motion, and there stood Darren, perfect and hobbit-ish as ever, talking to someone. Everyone started screaming and tears started to well up in my eyes. I quickly calmed myself down, I was NOT going to look like an idiot in front of Darren Freakin’ Criss! Before Darren stepped out onto the sidewalk, NYPD made an announcement that he only had 5 minutes to sign autographs. Then they let Darren come out, and he walked right towards me and grabbed my poster first thing. As he signed it, here’s what our conversation went like: <Darren signs my poster.> Me: Thank you SO SO much Darren! <Darren looks up at me. His eyes literally sparkle. He couldn’t have looked more beautiful in that moment.> DC: You are SO SO welcome! Me: Fantastic job tonight, by the way. You are a flawless and perfect Finch! DC: Oh my God, thank you SO much! Then Darren continued down the line trying to sign everything humanly possible. People were pushing and shoving and screaming, but at that point I couldn’t have cared less. When Darren’s five minutes was up, he did his adorable little speech before going back inside. “If you can hear the sound of my voice right now,” he said, “thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming tonight, I know it’s freezing, I don’t know how you all do it, but it means so much to me that you would wait in the cold like this. Thank you so much and I love you all, please have a good night!” He went back inside and I made my way out of the mob and towards my mom, who was waiting across the street. She looked at my face and smiled and said, “Well?” and all I could muster to say was, “I met him.” before the tears started streaming down my face. I have never felt so honored or so lucky to have met someone in my entire life (and I’ve even met Daniel Radcliffe!), and the whole experience is still so surreal to me. Thankfully I still have my autographed poster to remind me that it all was real. - Hillary

Hi, my name is Becky and I went to the New Orleans SPACE tour show. It was the best night of my life. I went with four of my friends. I was with one of them in line for General Admission like 3 hours early because we just went after school because we’re those crazy fans. So we were at the front of the line by ourselves for like 20 minutes. But while we were walking to get in line Mark, Brian, Clark, and Corey Lubowich all were walking in front of us and I died a little bit. We both just stared and did nothing. Then we were in line for what seemed like forever. Then we went in and got like 4 feet from the stage somehow. We met up with our other friends and enjoyed the concert. Then during Get Back to Hogwarts, my sister texted me from outside the House of Blues with my dad saying that the security people just told them that Starkid would be coming out and signing stuff from behind a barricade. I grab all of my friend’s arms and pull them out and we waited in front of the barricade for like 20 minutes. Tomek, one of the guys in Charlene’s band, came out and he came and signed stuff for everyone. He signed Julia’s book for me. Then Joey walked to the bus and we were all screaming and flailing everywhere. At this point there were like 50 people behind us and we had no idea. It was insane. Then Mark came out and signed stuff and we talked to him. Then Cool Clark showed and one of my friends was like “Hey remember that girl in the concert that said how hot you are.” He said “Yeah.” She goes “THAT WAS ME!” He said “THANK YOU! WHOA YOU ARE AWESOME.” Then he signed for people then Jaime came out and he left. Jaime stayed and signed for like 30 minutes and we got to talk with her for like 10 minutes. It was awesome! Then Julia walked by and I was turned around talking to this girl who we became friends with. My friend grabbed my book and was like screaming for Julia to come here and Julia ran over and went “AH! YOU HAVE MY BOOK!” I said nothing… just stared was like …. “W-w-will you sign it….? Please.” She was more than happy to do so. We took a picture and she said I was adorable which was awesome yet strange but nonetheless AMAZING. Lauren came out and I gave her a letter from my friend who couldn’t go and she signed my book and she was sick so only stayed out there for like 10 minutes which was sad, but I feel incredibly lucky. None of them came out for like 1 hour and so pretty much everyone left and we stayed with like 5 other girls. So there were like 10 fans out there and the guys finally come out. Joe Walker came out first and he is so funny and amazing and beautiful and I could go on forever. He signed my book and he actually sang with one of my friends. We talked with him for a long time like 30 minutes. We talked about Commander Up and writing Starship and how much he loves New Orleans. He talked about Julia’s book and he talked about Me and My Dick and stuff. He was so cool. So Dylan came out with Brian and Joey and Meredith. Meredith walked by me and I was like “I LOVE YOU. YOU’RE MY FAVORITE!” She said I was her favorite… which I’m sure she says to lots of fans. We took a picture and talked. She signed my book with a heart. Her signature is the only legible one. She was awesome. We talked with her for a while. Then Brian was cold and Meredith brought him his jacket… so Breredith sighting? Brian came and talked to my friends I just stared and flailed in my mind. He was nice, I had read so many stories of him being mean and stuff. So when we met him we were all scared, but he is such a SWEETHEART. He signed my book and we all took pictures. Then Dylan came out and he talked to us for literally 30 minutes about just random stuff like the weather for whatever reason. He signed my book and we took a picture and I told him his voice shoots tiny angels into my ears and he laughed. He’s adorable. I told him that he should just sing everything and not speak just sing all day. He’s so cute. He’s my favorite guy so it was really special to talk to him for so long. Then Joey finally gets to us from the other girls who hogged him (but can you blame them? I would’ve done the same… in fact I did, but with Dylan) and he was so adorable and nice. He signed my book and we took a picture. We talked and our faces were really close and he accidently spit on my face… It was disgusting. Like I’ve never been so showered in spit in my entire life. It was horrible. He was like “Oh my gosh, I am so sorry.” Everyone I tell that to thinks I’m insane for not finding that awesome, but if you think that’s cool you’re a true Joey Richter fan. Anyways then a girl was like crying hysterically and Joey started wiping away her tears. It was adorable. I wanted to cry. Then a girl like jumped out the back of her car and this is like 1 in the morning in the French Quarter in New Orleans and she scares her mom who is driving half to death and she starts screaming about Joey being there so she just randomly appeared literally. And it was hilarious. It’s possibly the funniest thing that happened at SPACE. Joey was freaked out and kept asking her if she was okay and stuff. So then the girl left and we were all just like “Um… okay.” So after everyone was done with signing and pictures and such we just talked to them for like 30 minutes and then we were like “We have school so bye.” They were all like “HAHA ew that sucks. Have fun at school!” So I just wanted to share my experience because I’m still not sure it really happened. I feel so lucky to have had this experience and I haven’t a Starkid fan for very long so I discovered them in like May 2011 and got to go to SPACE so quickly after finding them. I feel really lucky and I hope they go on tour to other places and if they don’t come back to New Orleans I won’t be mad or anything because I want all of you guys to have the same experience. Also, a little PS when this all happened in the wee hours of the morning on 11/11/11. I was talking to them and I remember my friend saying that we had nothing to wish for because we already got our wishes and Meredith said “Oh, God, now I’m going to cry.” Anyway, so I had quite the experience and I definitely did something embarrassing in front of everyone one of them, but I regret nothing. So, this isn’t really an experience, but I guess it kinda is… I’m in theatre arts with one of my friends, also a die-hard StarKid fan. For our final, we have to do a lip sync, and naturally, the first thing that comes to our minds is “We must do something from AVPM/AVPS.” At first we said, Granger Danger, but then we decided against it. Now, we’re doing Different As Can Be. I’m Voldemort, she’s Quirrell. And I feel badass >:D Especially since Joe Walker is my favorite StarKid. - Daphne
